Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Oscar Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor, comedian and musician.Her parents separated when she was just 18 months old . She and her brother and actor Oliver Hudson, were raised in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California by her mother and her longtime boyfriend actor Kurt Russell.Hudson's ancestry is Italian (from her maternal grandmother), Hungarian Jewish (from her maternal grandmother),and the rest is a mixture of English as well as some German.She was raised Jewish and, like her mother, she also practices Buddhism.Hudson has claimed that her biological father "doesn't know me as if I'm a hole in the wall" and that she considers Russell as her father.Hudson has claimed that her mother was "the person who I've gained the most knowledge from, and whom I look up to as someone who's led her life in a way that I can admire". [14] She has four half-siblings. Emily Hudson and Zachary Hudson, from her biological father's marriage to actress Cindy Williams; Lalania Hudson and Lalania Hudson, who were born from his relationship with another woman;[15] as well as Wyatt Russell, from her mother's relationship with Kurt Russell.In 1997 she was a graduate of Crossroads which was a college preparatory school located in Santa Monica. She was accepted to New York University but decided to pursue acting instead of a degree.
