Cynthia Ann Crawford was born February 20, 1966. She is an American model, actress and television host. In the 1980s and 90s she was a well-known supermodel, a prominent presence on magazines and runways and also in fashion shows. Later on she diversified her acting career and ventured into business. In her sophomore year in high school, she was contacted by an email from a local clothing shop for modeling jobs but was later informed that it was a trick played by two students. Crawford was one of the high school girls hired by another store who also did a fashion shoot. In her senior year local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a different college student to be the week's coed on the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to photograph Crawford for the publication. The result was her first cover. The model was enticed to continue modeling based on the positive comments and pictures she received. In the beginning, she was working for a small agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency shortly after she signed. At the age of 17, she was a participant in Elite's Look of the Year contest and was able to make it to the finals at national level.
