Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. When her father's departure from her household, the actress was brought to maturity by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. As a young girl, Catherine Ford struggled with an obsessive compulsive disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word"association. Ford's interest in acting began when she was young. She was a part of in the National Youth Theatre. She gained admission to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, however, she decided after one week that she wasn't a good for the school. Ford applied instead to the Central School of Speech and Drama and finally won the position she wanted on her third try. One of her classmates were Shaun Dingwall, who would later have a recurring role as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford received her degree in 1993. However, prior to that, Ford made a television debut, appearing in Surgical Spirit in an episode that aired in 1991. Ford took the professional name Catherine Tate. In the Nineties, Tate could be watched on television in programs like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. The regular theatre work she performed brought her into The Royal Shakespeare Company, for the 2000-2001 Season. Tate began to gain attention for her stand up comedy in the year 1996.
