Farrah Fawcett is an American actor, artist, and model, best recognized for her role of 'The Apostle'. She was nominated six times in the Golden Globe Award and four times for the Emmy Award. She began her acting career with her first role in Texas in Corpus Christi. The TV shows she has appeared on include "I Dream of Jeannie,"' 'The Flying Nun" as well as other programs. In the French movie 'Love is a Funny Thing, she was the supporting character. The film was a global hit due to her red swimsuit pin-up, which was the highest-selling poster in history. As she got older and became more popular, she was able to continue appearing in popular TV shows and films which established her position as an eminent sex character in the entertainment industry. The role of the private detective she played in the crime drama Charlie's Angels was highly praised. The series followed the adventures of three female employees at a Los Angeles private detective firm. In addition to playing roles that were glamorous, she was also reputed for her dramatic performances including the one of a battered wife from the TV movie, 'The Burning bed. Her name was placed as number 26 on TV Guide's "50 greatest TV actors of all time'. At the age of 59 her diagnosis was anal carcinoma, and passed away three years later.
